Job Description

Junior/Intermediate Java Software Developer

SimFront is seeking a talented software developer for work with military simulation systems. If you enjoy “breadth and depth” challenges in your work – where one moment you are creating database structures, and the next you are delving into the intricacies of UX, then the “grow your career as the company grows” opportunities afforded by this position are for you. Simulation systems play a critical role in preparing the Canadian military for domestic and international operations. The candidate who is personable, easy to work with, understands the myriad of issues related to software development, testing and support is encouraged to apply for this challenging and rewarding position.

Requirements:

Mandatory

• Proficiency in Java programming language
• Cursory knowledge of full stack development
• Knowledge of relational databases, JDBC and SQL
• Adept at working on multiple projects
• Strong oral/written communication skills
• Must be able to obtain valid Canadian security clearance

Desirable

• Experience with Constructive or Virtual simulation systems
• User Interface experience – web and/or thick applications
• Experience with BDD
• GIS experience
• Military software systems experience
• Strong mathematical skills
